From Monday 1st February 2016 new legislation comes into effect requiring estate agents to carry out visa checks for their tenants and any adult occupiers of a property.
In readiness of the new legislation Eurolink released an approved version upgrade to its Veco™ software last December incorporating visa check functionality to ensure compliance for its estate agent clients.
The Veco™ software allows estate agents to record where visa’s are required, types of visas and their expiry dates and these can be recorded against any type of contact. The law applies not only to tenants but to any other adult occupier in a property. These can they be tracked as a key date by a property manager or renewal clerk. Estate agents using the firms automation software can go one step further and use a tool to automatically create reminder letters to internal staff or directly to clients of the estate agency.
Richard Murray, Director said:
‘With the burden being put on letting agents to complete and record additional checks and measures, it’s our job at Eurolink to provide functionality and solutions to minimise additional workload, whilst supporting best practice and compliance with all government or regulatory legislation.’
